Varun Sharma, MSc
Research Data Analyst (2020-2021). Varun studied Biology at Williams College (BA) and Systems Biology at ETH Zurich (MSc), and was a research data analyst in the Keiser lab. Previously he worked on using NLP and machine learning to predict the function of new protein complexes in the Aebersold Lab for his MSc thesis at ETH Zurich. He pursuined the application of machine/deep learning methodologies for systems pharmacological interrogation of complex biological systems in the context of high content imaging drug screens. Broadly he looks to leverage machine learning for a variety of therapeutic discovery and systems biology problems in areas such as neurodegeneration, cancer, gut microbiomics, and metabolic disorders.
